I am trying hard to listen to the Bible and "WATCH". And what I have learned from reading news article after article this week from around the world is that if you are not outraged, than you are not paying attention.
The court case below is just a small example of why it is so important that we let our light shine to all we meet and take the opportunity to tell people how Jesus found us when we were lost.
The Ten Commandments v. Summum case has updates at http://www.aclj.org.
Not much news today, just that a decision by the high court will come before the end of the term. (around February 2009)
But here is a very interesting interview that was done yesterday after court convened (http://blogs.wsj.com/law/category/supreme-court/ ). If you don’t have time to read the whole article, this sentence sums it up “I think some justices will take the approach of Van Orden v. Perry — allowing the grandfathering in things that have been there forever while taking a skeptical view of new monuments.”
Hardly the victory that God would want, but in this p.c. world we live in, we’ll just have to accept a loophole in the law as a small victory.
We just have to pray that they rule that way. Otherwise, Summum could have the right to erect their Seven Aphorisms monuments
in city parks all over the country.
And by the way, for those who are curious what exactly the Seven Aphorisms. An alien passed this knowledge down to a HUGE Star Trek fan in 1975:
1. THE PRINCIPLE OF PSYCHOKINESIS
2. THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE
3. THE PRINCIPLE OF VIBRATION
4. THE PRINCIPLE OF OPPOSITION
5. THE PRINCIPLE OF RHYTHM
6. THE PRINCIPLE OF CAUSE AND EFFECT
7. THE PRINCIPLE OF GENDER
Some of their practices listed on their website are:
Meditation
Nectars
Pyramid
Mummification
Potpourri
